What happened
Tamron announced on August 24 that its 16–30mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2, model A064, received the EISA Wide Angle Zoom Lens 2026–2027 award, while the 35–100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD, model A078, received the Standard Zoom Lens award.
Both lenses are available for Sony E and Nikon Z full-frame mirrorless systems. EISA's citations emphasise the 16–30mm's internal zoom and the 35–100mm's compact portrait range. EISA says its awards draw on 54 specialist media members across more than 30 countries; its rules are an editorial selection process, not a laboratory standard shared with MANAZYR.
Why it matters
The pairing is useful because it shows one clear product direction: constant-F2.8 zooms built around smaller working ranges rather than maximum reach. For a real kit, mount, overlap, focus behaviour, distortion correction and total carried weight matter more than the award badge alone.
What we're watching
We are watching independent optical tests, sample variation, video focus breathing, corrected and uncorrected distortion, and current regional pricing. MANAZYR has not tested either lens.
