What happened
Tamron announced the lens on July 15 and listed July 30 as the Sony E launch date; Nikon Z is scheduled for August 27. The global release states no price and Romanian stock has not been verified.
The 12–20mm F2.8 uses 17 elements in 12 groups, VXD linear autofocus and a 0.18 m minimum focus distance at 12mm. It weighs 570 g in Sony E form and 585 g for Nikon Z, with a fixed hood and integrated rear-filter holder.

Why it matters
The combination of 12mm, full frame and F2.8 in a sub-600 g body matters for architecture, interiors, astrophotography, gimbals and immersive frames. Extreme perspective is a visual language, not merely a way to fit more into a shot.

Independent tests are needed for corner sharpness, F2.8 coma, distortion, flare, focus breathing and video autofocus. We are also tracking European pricing, Romanian stock and the Nikon Z release.
