What happened
The SL3-P has been available internationally since June 25 at a recommended €5,990 including VAT. It uses a 44-megapixel full-frame BSI sensor, offers a 176-megapixel Multishot mode and records 8.1K Open Gate 3:2 up to 30p, 5.9K60 and 4K120.
Internal ProRes reaches 5.8K. Frame.io integration enables Camera-to-Cloud, while optional Content Credentials let the camera sign images with provenance metadata. The full-metal L-Mount body is IP54-rated.

Why it matters
Signing provenance metadata in camera can be more useful than attaching it only at the end of a workflow. The distinction is essential: the credential documents capture-related metadata, but does not independently prove that the depicted event is true or fully contextualised.

What we're watching
Independent testing should establish rolling shutter, long-recording thermals, burst autofocus and usable dynamic range. We will also watch whether provenance survives processing, export and external publishing platforms.
